At Wembury Primary School, we intend to deliver an English curriculum that fosters a deep love of reading and writing (in all its forms) and ensures that children develop outstanding oracy skills. They will consequently be equipped with the knowledge and skills to maximise their learning across the whole curriculum.

Throughout their literary journey with us, children will be provided with quality texts and quality learning experiences. Their reading journey begins with a focus on phonics, moving to fluency at every level, with comprehension running alongside this. Opportunities for creative and original thought are crucial to developing a love of writing and at Wembury Primary we ensure that children in every year group have these opportunities.
